ENG: LG is previewing its CLOiD home robot at CES 2026 as part of a “zero labor home” concept. The company says the robot can handle routine tasks such as fetching milk from the fridge, putting a croissant in the oven, and doing laundry work like folding and stacking clothes. Laundry-folding robots have appeared before, and SwitchBot is also showing one at CES, but LG describes CLOiD as more capable on paper thanks to two articulated arms with seven degrees of motion and a torso that can tilt and bend.
Beyond chores, CLOiD is positioned as a smart home controller that can interact through spoken language and facial expressions. LG emphasizes tight integration with its own ecosystem through ThinQ and ThinQ ON, aiming for seamless control of compatible appliances. The concept raises practical questions about cost and everyday comfort with a robot moving around the home, even if the convenience is appealing.

Compania spune că robotul poate face sarcini de rutină, precum să aducă lapte din frigider, să pună un croissant în cuptor și să se ocupe de rufe, inclusiv să le împăturească și să le așeze în teanc. Roboții care împăturesc rufe au mai fost prezentați, iar SwitchBot aduce și el unul la CES, însă LG descrie CLOiD ca fiind mai capabil, cel puțin pe hârtie, datorită celor două brațe articulate cu șapte grade de mișcare și a unui trunchi care se poate înclina și apleca.
Dincolo de treburile casnice, CLOiD este prezentat ca un controler pentru locuința inteligentă, care poate interacționa prin limbaj vorbit și expresii faciale.
